On Day 4 we decided to finally do some relaxing.
I woke up first, made some coffee with our little espresso machine in our room. I started working on this blog while sipping on my coffee and staring out the window at the Ligurian Sea. What a nice way to wake up. Living here must be amazing for the local residents.
When Deanna woke up we popped our bottle of Prosecco and had a morning treat. Then we headed up the town center to find some food. We went to a small shop and ordered a panini sandwich, a pizza, and 2 aperol spritz for take away. While we were waiting on that order I walked further up the hill to a fried food shop and got a full cone of calamari for take away.
When our food was done we hustled back to our hotel and setup shop on the terrace to eat and enjoy the view. The view here never gets old. It's so amazing and worth every effort and penny of getting here.
We finished our food and got ready for some tub time. Our hotel has a cool water hot tub with infinity edge. It is positioned at a very private high point on the property and allows you to look out over the Sea and the breakwater rocks below. It's truly amazing. We brought up some wine and our speaker for some music vibes. We relaxed in the tub for a couple hours.
Normally dinner service doesn't even begin until 7pm around here, but we decided to go see if we could eat earlier today. We walked up into the town and found a place that had a menu we liked. We were positioned outside on the plaza where we could people watch and also hear the nearby band setting up for a folk festival that just happened be here the same weekend.
For dinner we started off with a bowl of mussels. Deanna doesn't usually like them but she tried them and actually enjoyed them this time. So that was a nice bonus to this dish. For our main courses I had the squid ink pasta with scorpion fish and Deanna had a pesto pasta dish. And we had a bottle of local white wine with it.
We wound out the day with a stroll through the town center and I had a gelato with pistachio and nutellaroso flavors.
That is the end of a relaxing and wonderful day 5.
